EY Metaverse Initiative
EY Metaverse Initiative
This was part of an endeavour at EY to create a Metaverse experience for their clients. As Web3 technology caught on towards the end of the pandemic, our working world radically changed as new Metaverse-related projects took shape. EY was looking to bring these services to potential clients and tapped talents from separate departments to make the initiative happen.
The first section of the project was to recreate the EY Wavespace in the Phoenix, Arizona presentation space.
Because of the COVID-19 Pandemic, the new Wavespace built in Phoenix was left vacant after being constructed. EY wanted to show off the space in Virtual Reality (VR) to investors and test out the technology for the Metaverse project.
I started out by modelling the presentation space itself, also known as the Egg Room, in Blender.
I went through the process of texturing and applying lighting to the building till I felt it was ready to move into Unity.
The next steps were getting the lighting and transparency recreated in Unity since those systems do not migrate from Blender.
The space was well-received by the Principle and head of Cloud at EY. We continued to build more capacities for the project so that we could sell the service to more clients.
I constructed the area in Blender and merged the changes through Git.
After I completed the hub area, EY looked for clients who wanted to invest in the project and I moved on to other engagements.
$54 Million
I learned more about the process of 3D modeling in Blender. At the start of this project, I had no professional experience with the software.
I learned more about working with development teams as I was in constant communication with them to carry out my models and code snippets.
